Horizontal impact test of packaging

horizontal impact test is a test used to evaluate the robustness of inner packaging and outer packaging containers when packaging is subjected to horizontal impact. It is applicable to all transportation packages and containers, especially those bulky and difficult to carry out drop test. Horizontal impact test is designed to simulate vehicle emergency braking and train coupling operation. In the actual test, due to the limitation of equipment conditions, the inclined plane impact test is often used to replace the synchronous pulley and precision ball screw drive in the horizontal impact test. The test device is mainly composed of an inclined sliding platform and taxiway with two tracks, a pulley and an impact plate with an inclination angle of 10 ° with the horizontal plane

(1) requirements for test equipment

① sliding platform. The taxiway has an inclination angle of 10 ° with the ground, and its length can be adjusted as needed and should be well fixed

② slide. The slide is laid on the slide and is composed of steel rails. It is required to be smooth and straight, with distance scale on it and speed measuring device

③ pulley. The pulley is placed on the slideway, and its end is equipped with steel cable, which is pulled and lifted by the winch. The surface of the pulley shall be flat without bumps

④ impact plate. Also known as the baffle, it is installed at the lowest end of the chute and perpendicular to the sliding direction of the pulley, which is difficult for domestic users to accept. Its size should be larger than the impacted surface of the package, and its surface should be very hard, which is generally made of hardwood. The surface should be flat and free of bulges. (2) determination of impact speed at the impact point

the instantaneous speed of the test sample when impacted varies with the height (i.e. sliding distance), and its value can be obtained from the following formula:

(3) test steps

① place the test sample on the pulley to bear the impact of the test. Otherwise, the accuracy deviation of the sensor will be too large or damaged, or the edge will be aligned with the front end of the pulley, or it will protrude 5cm from the front end of the pulley

② adjust the position of the pulley, which should be consistent with the required impact instantaneous speed

③ slide the pulley with the test sample down the slide and collide with the impact plate

④ make the pulley slide repeatedly, either at one speed, or increase the speed by 1/10 than the previous time until the test sample is damaged

⑤ record the impact speed and impact times, write the test report, and analyze the test results
